CORE VALUES
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (2 Cor. 13:14, Eph. 4:16) The Father is the great I Am. “I Am Who I Am” (Exod. 3:14)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, and begotten by the Holy Ghost. He came and died for our sins, according to the scriptures. He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. He is the only way to salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. (1 Cor. 15:3-4, Acts 4:12)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is equal to the Father and the Son. He inspired the scriptures, empowers God’s people, and convicts the world of sin. He is our helper, comforter, guide, and teacher. We recognize that we desperately need the person and power of the Holy Spirit to minister effectively to our generation. We believe it is essential for every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit. (2 Cor. 2:2-5, John 15:5)
We believe the Bible is the Holy Word of God. We maintain that both the New and Old Testaments are without error and are inspired by God. The New Testament is our only creed and rule of faith. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
We believe we are many members of one body. Each person having different gifts according to the grace that is given us. These gifts include the gifts from the Father (Rom. 12:6-8), the gifts from the Son (Eph. 4:11-13), and the gifts of the Spirit. (1 Cor. 12:4-11).
We are committed to building relationships. First, an intimate relationship with the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Second relationships with fellow believers in the body of Christ. We believe serving others, building trust and building relationships, is best done in small groups. Because we are called to walk in the fear of the Lord and in the biblical standard of holiness and purity, we believe small groups will provide a means of support and accountability to maintain Gods standards. (2 Cor. 13:14, 1 Cor. 12:14-27)
It is our belief that marriage and families are instituted by God. Healthy and stable families are essential for the church to be effective in fulfilling its mission. Parents are called by God to walk with Christ and to train their children in the nurture and loving discipline of the Lord. (Mark 10:6-8, Eph. 5:22-6:4) Marriage (one man to one woman) is a covenant before God and is ordained by Him and needs to be honored and kept. (Prov. 16:6, Mark 10:9, 1 Thess. 4:3-8, 1 Cor. 6:18-20)
Jesus instructs us to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth to those who have never heard. Our mission is to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are also called to help the poor and needy, both physically and spiritually. (Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8)
We believe this congregation is also part of the larger church which comprises the whole body of Christ. Therefore, we will recognize other Christian bodies and denominations and will seek to work together to fulfill the Great Commission.
